Saw this bar (a 73" x 26" $59 Numerar shelf on Capita brackets) at Ikea; thought it was cool. Something like it with the brackets attached to the wall (oriented vertically) might work, but you'd need to attach the brackets directly to studs, and even then, stress on the bracket would damage wallboard or plaster.

Need something like this for a bar in front of my kitchen window. It would be better if I could fold it down so it just hung against the wall when I wasn't using it, because I have doors in the way. I have an idea for what to do, but think it will look homemade and cheesy.
